Week One 1️⃣

Science - making microhabitat fold outs. We created rockpools, flowerbeds and under leaves 🍁 🪨💐

We have been thinking about what we do/see at the seaside. We have drawn pictures and labelled what we do there! ☀️🌊⛱️🏖️

Geography - we have been learning about coastlines and shorelines. We have coloured where the seaside would be and circled the seaside towns! We have also been looking at atlases to see if we can find where have been on holiday 🌊

Week Two 2️⃣

In English we have been orally rehearsing our retell of The Lucky Dip

In RE we have been making courage bracelets/chains to represent the bravery and courage David needed when he took on Goliath.

Year one children have been exploring numbers to 100 this week. We have been playing games with our partners to challenge them with missing numbers, more than a given number, less than a given number and many more!

In geography we have been learning about physical features that we see at the seaside. Children labelled pictures and then went on to label real life seaside beaches with the features they could see. Then finally, we drew our own seaside pictures and labelled them with physical features 🌊🏝️🪨

Week Three 3️⃣

Sports day... potted sports fun! Egg and spoon 🥚🥄

Year Two children practising their knowledge of time... by creating a human clock!!

In English we have created a writing toolkit to help us to write a powerful character description. We used the toolkit to formulate our ideas by writing them in a thought shower. We have been super excited to write up our descriptions!!

Here they are! Some of our amazing character descriptions...

Week Four 4️⃣

Week Six 6️⃣

Seaside morning activities! We made our seaside scene pictures, designed sand castles and completed seaside word searches. We also researched Victorian seaside towns and explored Victorian steam trains.

Seaside day afternoon fun! We rode hobby horses, paddled in water and sand, ate ice creams and did some seaside colouring! We had the most wonderful day ⛱️☀️🏖️

Year ones have been learning about time today! We made a huge clock and started to say what time it was ⏰🕰️⏱️

Today was the day where we made our disgusting sandwich! We decided that we would have mustard, pickles and something spicy (spicy crisps). We followed the instructions we wrote and put it all together! Miss Halliday tried the sandwich and although it wouldn’t be her first choice... it was ok 😬! The children tried some mustard and pickles too 🥒
