Friday 8th March

Our clay brooches have been a great success. Take a look at our models taking shape.

Thursday 7th March

World Book Day

Owl class had a fabulous day today celebrating WBD. As well as creating their book front cover and a bookmark in the style of Beowulf they had great fun playing and designing their own book bingo and playing book charades.  A big well done to Austen who won our creative competition for his entries today. Austin’s winning artwork was a character sewing masterpiece and following our DT sewing topic last half term we loved that Austin had developed his sewing skills even more!

We had some great charades....The Demon Dentist, Going Solo, Matilda, Holes, Lord of the Rings and Fantastic Beasts to name a few!

We have explored Anglo Saxon designs before trying some of our own.

Tuesday 6th March. Lots of talking today in our Oracy session in preparation for our writing.

Monday 5th February

In History we have started to investigate how the Anglo Saxon period fits into other periods that we have studied. We studied a map to see how, as the Romans left, other groups of people came and settled in the country. We also created a time-line to show the main events in the Anglo Saxon time period.
