Monday 18th December 2023 - We had a very exciting start to the festivities today with a visit by Santa and his inflatable grotto. Thank you to Friends of Holly Hill for paying for this - the children loved it.
Friday 15th December - Well done to this week’s Hero
Tuesday 12th December - Today Key Stage 1 visited Millington Springs Care Home to sing our Christmas songs to the residents and staff.
Friday 8th December - This week the children have worked hard to write the Biscuit Bear story.
Thursday 30th November - Today the children wrote about what they learned at St Helen’s Church yesterday. Well done to today’s Star Writers
Wednesday 29th November 2023 - This morning we visited St Helen’s Church as part of our RE work. The Rev Lee showed us the different parts of the church and told us about what happens there.
This afternoon the children were busy making stick puppets and retelling the story of Biscuit Bear.
Tuesday 28th November - Internet Legends Assembly helping our children to learn to stay safe on the internet.
Thursday 23rd November - This week our core text has been Biscuit Bear by Mini Grey. Today the children decorated their own biscuit.
Friday 17th November 2023 - Children in Need
This term in Science the children have been learning about different animal groups and their characteristics.
Thursday 16th November - Well done to today’s Star Writers - super work!
Wednesday 15th November - Today we started a maths unit on Subtraction and began by playing a game of skittles.
Tuesday 14th November - Well done to today’s Star Writing who worked independently to write two sentences which included a capital letter to start and full stop to end.
Maths Mastery - The children used Rekenreks to represent numbers
Friday 10th November - Well done to this week’s Heroes
Thursday 9th November - The children were very excited to bring in their own toys today. We discussed what the toys were made out of.
The children looked closely at toys which move and finding out what makes them move. Finley showed the children how his remote controlled car worked and even let other children have a go.
Wednesday 8th November - In Science the children have been learning about different types of animals and sorting into mammals, fish, reptiles, birds, amphibians.
In English the children acted out scenes from our book Traction Man.
Tuesday 7th November - This afternoon we had a session in the Key Stage 1 Library.
Monday 6th November - Wow what a great start back! All the Puffins write about their half term holiday and many of the children worked independently.
