Spring Two Knowledge Organiser

Week One 1️⃣

We have been so fortunate to have Paul Cookson the poet in school today! He performed in assembly for us and it was fantastic. All the children were so engaged and we had a wonderful time joining in with Paul's poems. In class the children helped Paul to write our own class poem.

We had a ‘thought shower’ this week! We based it on our experiences of the circus. We enjoyed watching videos of different circus acts to help us gain inspiration!

The children have been asking questions for the characters in our new story... Leon and The Place Between 🪄✨

Week Three 3️⃣

British Science Week - this is the start of our science investigations. We are seeing what happens to our sugar paper when we leave them in the light for a week. We are hoping that our shapes have printed onto the paper 🤞

📚 World Book Day 2024 📚

What a wonderful day! The children looked spectular in their costumes!! We spent the morning designing our school reading diary entries and in the afternoon we had all things “Supertato”. The children were able to design their own mask or puppet characters. Some children even made up their own stories to act out on the puppet show stage. We also had some fabulous artwork entries and Rupert was Wren class winner!

Year Ones exploring odd and even numbers on a tens frame.

Week Four 4️⃣

British Science Week!

Our theme for British science week has been ‘time’. We have done one experiment on sun printing and we are waiting a little longer before we check them. Today we made predictions on how long a water bottle would take to drain out, but all the bottles had different sized holes in. We were surprised at some of the outcomes! Well done Wrens ✨

Making our predictions and testing them 🥼

Working on our story maps in English...

Week Five 5️⃣

We have made a start on our decorations for our puppets! Carefully selecting materials based on our initial designs 🤩

Our wonderful hygiene posters! We decided on... how to wash hands, how to clean teeth or when we should wash our hands!

Week Six 6️⃣

Year twos have started their new unit in measurement today! We had a great time measuring different items in the classroom 📏

Some gorgeous story maps for our alternative section in ‘Leon and the Place Between’. Ask your child to retell you the section using the story map 📖🗺️
