Key Stage 2 GearsBot Club
Mrs Warsop ran our very own GearsBot after school club this year working with a group of Key Stage 2 children developing their skills in navigating a virtual Robotic Program.
The course stated that it supported the computer science curriculum and the children developed skills in controlling and simulating physical systems, solving problems by decomposing them into smaller parts and working with variables.
The children involved loved their after school sessions and for the ones who are now at high school will I'm sure, be able to use the knowledge gained to further develop their Science and Computing experiences.
Thank you to Mrs Warsop for using her expertise to give us this exciting oportunity.
Year 5 Hathesage Residential
Our Hathesage residential is always a firm favourite with the Year 5s as they spend 3 nights in the Peak District National Park. During the visit the children carry out activities to develop and enhance a range of curriculum areas including Science as a focussed area. The photographs do not do our visit justice!

Pond exploration. Observing, collecting and classifying pond creatures. Learning about the pond as a habitat for a variety of creatures.
Using natural materials to make rafts. Using knowledge of forces, properties of materials, floating and sinking to create the fastest rafts.

Special Visitors
Sometimes we have really special visitors in School. Organised by our FOHH team. Every class gets the chance to come and say hello. At Christmas time we even get to meet the reindeer. 🫎🪱🕷️
