A Scientist a Month

Learn about famous Scientists here

Every month we will show-case a new Scientist from around the world.  People who have discovered and achieved in the Scientific World.  People who, through their life's work have influenced and changed our planet.  Some of these are scientists from today and some will be from centuries ago (or anywhere in-between)

Ibn al-Haytham (965 - 1040)

An Arabic astronomer and Physicist Ibn carried out experiments about Light and how our eyes work ( an area called optics) He argued with other scientists of the time that we see when light enters our eyes and not that light comes out of our eyes.

Zhang Heng (78 - 139 CE)

 

Zhang Heng was a Chinese astronomer and inventor.  He mapped out all of the stars and planets.  He recognised that the moon was not a life source but that it reflected the light of the sun.
