Monday 13th November

Today we started our text for this half term ‘Holes’ As well as being one of the Year 5/6 recommended reads this book also ties in really nicely to our Crime and Punishment topic. Today we focussed on the title, blurb and first line of the text. We came up with a list of queries which we want to find out and using what we have read already we discussed what this book might be about before writing our own predictions.
One of my favourite texts to work on. Owl class….. you are going to love it!

Friday 10th November

Owl class absolutely loved carrying out their Kahoot quiz today testing their knowledge about Pentecost following our work on Christian celebrations and beliefs. There were a lot of top marks and a few children said they were going to do it again when they got home.😁

Wednesday 8th November

Year 6 children starting their learning of long division using a method we call chunking.  This will be mastered in no time at allβž—βž—βž—βž—I’m sure!😊

Tuesday 7th November

The children came back in to class this morning buzzing following their PE lesson with Mr Ellis. They had started their dance topic and came in telling me who they had worked with and what they had done. Mr Ellis had later told me what a fabulous session it had been! I am looking forward to going in the session next week to see for myself. Well done all!

Monday 6th November

Today in RE we learned about the Eucharist and Holy Communion. We learned why Christians have the Eucharist during their mass and why it is an important part of their beliefs. Before we started we all shared some bread together. It was great to be back together after a long half term. We chatted about what we had done in the holidays. It was good to be back together as a class community!

…..But why did we share the bread?  Ask your wonderful Owl to tell you all about it.
