Year One - Spellings Overview
The children have written a recount of our trip to The Yorkshire Wildlife Park
Wednesday 22nd May 2024 - OUR TRIP TO THE YORKSHIRE WILDLIFE PARK
Monday 20th May - In PE today we completed our Tennis unit of work
Friday 17th May 2024 - We concluded our Art unit of work on collage by working with a partner to produce a piece of work based on Tiger in a Tropical Storm by Henri Rousseau

Thursday 16th May - Science : We went to Whispers looking for micro habitats. It was a bit soggy!
Maths - Dividing into equal groups.
Wednesday 15th May - The children have been trying really hard to write tricky words.
Wk beg 13th and 20th May 2024 - Our book for the next two weeks is the beautiful book DEAR GREENPEACE
Friday 10th May - A massive well done to these two girls who have worked really hard over the last 3 days to write an innovated story.
Week beginning 6th May 2024 - This week in Maths the children have been starting multiplication, counting in 2s, 5s and 10s and making equal groups.
Puffin Class have a new reading buddy.
Friday 3rd May - In Art today the children learned more about using collage in the style of Megan Coyle
Monday 29th April - Today Puffin’s enjoyed PE outside in the sunshine.
Friday 26th April - Wow, this week we had 3 Puffin Class Heroes!
Thursday 25th April - In Maths this week the children have been making numbers using 19s and 1s
Tuesday 23rd April 2024 - Music : Today the children were using drawing to respond to different types of music.
Monday 22nd April - In PE this term our theme is Racket Skills. Today’s learning objective was : To develop control of a ball using a racket.
Friday 19th April - In Art today the children have created collage inspired by Henri Matisse.
Thursday 18th April - In Science the children have been learning about things that are living or alive, used to be alive and never been alive. There were lots of conversations about some of the things we sorted.
Tuesday 16th April 2024 - in RE this term the children will be learning stories from the Jewish and Christian Bibles. This week our story was Noah’s Ark - look at our stunning art work inspired by the story.
Our first core book is the beautiful story Meerkat Mail.
PE this term will be on Mondays.
