21.07.23 The only picture of the water fight before it turned into a game of ‘who can get Miss Fretwell the most drenched?’ 🤣

20.07.23 I ordered a little surprise for Swans, which was meant to be delivered on the last day of term, but look what turned up early! Oh well - it was absolutely delicious and we were not complaining! 🍪

We’re so happy with our hoodies - thank you parents!!

30.07.23 Y6 (and our Y5’s for the week!) blew me away on our trip to the National Holocaust Museum. They approached the day with such respect. I was so impressed with their subject knowledge: we finished this topic last half term, and they had remembered everything from their lessons and the staff at the museum commented on how impressed they were with what the children knew. Well done Swans!

28.06.23 Scatterball cricket- definitely my favourite P.E lesson in a long time! We showed impeccable teamwork and improved batting and fielding skills.

16.06.23 Today was class picture day, and Y6 had their leavers book photos too. Here’s a sneak peek- this year is going too quickly! 😭💜

We had a bit of a wait for pictures to be taken, so these 3 gave us a little performance to keep us entertained! I’ll spare you the video of them singing! 🤣

14.06.23 Another day, another science investigation! Today, we tested liquids to find out if they were an acid or an alkaline, then recorded our results in a table.

13.06.23 Coding in Scratch - we’re using selection to create our own Macbeth game.

08.06.23 Chemistry and chemical reactions: we learnt about atoms and molecules, then carried out an investigation to see what happens when two liquids react.

08.06.23 Here’s one of the many amazing performances in character as Henry V.

08.06.23 When I tell you that today was my favourite English lesson I’ve EVER had, I’m not joking!

Every single Swan practised and delivered a speech from Shakespeare’s Henry V, which was from a clip when Henry and his army were surrounded and exhausted, but needed to fight a battle. Henry’s speech was to motivate his men, so we spent time listening to an oracy actor deliver this famous speech. I was blown away by how quickly the children were able to bring this speech to life. I didn’t want to make anybody shy, so here’s some audio of our practise. It might sound like chaos, but what you can hear is focused, in character, passionate performances, which I’m incredibly proud of. If you imagine a very loud battlefield in the background, you’ll understand why the children are being so loud!

07.06.23 We started our new P.E unit today with Miss Bateman. For today’s introduction to cricket, we focused on using our body as a barrier and quick release throwing.

06.06.23 Today’s introduction to William Shakespeare went down a hit!

We learnt the plot to Romeo and Juliet and then finished with some speaking and listening activities. I’ll leave it to your imagination, but let’s just say we had a LOT of fun taking on the role of a Montague and a Capulet and firing Shakespearean insults at each other!
