Ancient Greece
Our final half term in Kingfisher will be about the Ancient Greek Civilisation and all things Greek.
We will be learning about the rich history of Greece and locating it geographically.
A Greek food tasting day will also be a treat for us this half term, and of course, our learning would not be complete without the Olympics, which of course, originates from Greece.

Art: We have been working on manipulating the clay, in preparation for Greek mask making 🎭

Sports Day 2024 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️ Kingfisher did brilliantly and we had a fun day!
Maths: This week we have been learning about different types of lines: vertical, horizontal, parallel and perpendicular. We decided to draw and measure different lines, and create shapes to cut out. We used our knowledge of measurements to try and measure to the nearest millimetre. 📏

Sculpting clay - we learnt that clay is malleable (can be changed by force) and had a great time trying to make a stegosaurus (and other things!) with only our hands ✋️ as tools.
Science: We have kicked off with a healthy eating session this week. What a great discussion about healthy food vs treats we've had! 😋

Greek Art: We looked at the origins of Greek pottery and how it was used. This was our inspiration for these wonderful sketches using tradition Greek patterns. 🇬🇷
Greek Mythology: We have drawn a storyboard about Theseus and the Minotaur. 🗡👑👸
