Week 6 Update

06.2.23

7.02.23- Today we looked at Hanni and the magic Window. This is a story all about how the internet allows us to access lots of interesting and special things, but it can also sometimes be a little bit scary. So we have to make sure we follow certain rules to stay safe online.

In the afternoon, Wren class had P.E where they had to complete a little obstacle course of ladders and beams, practising holding their arms out to maintain their balance.

8.02.23- We have looked at the properties of water in science today. We created our own calligraphy poems to display in the classroom. They tell us all about the properties of water.

10.02.23-  In computing we were in a simulation of a supermarket. Learning how IT can help us everyday.

 Week 2 update

Monday 9th: Today we started looking at the grapheme wh (w) in Phonics. In English, we are looking the book ‘The Most Magnificent Thing.’

Tuesday 10th: In English, we have practiced labelling a picture from the book to prepare us for our Computing topic in a few weeks time. In the afternoon, Wren Class did some gymnastics in P.E and looked at everyday materials in science, focusing on objects that are made of more than one material.

Wednesday 11th: In English we have learnt about coordination using and, alongside the function of verbs within a sentence.  In maths, we were looking at making patterns and recognising repeated shapes. We made our own patterns with shapes first before we completed our workbooks. We look at all the other patterns each group has created as well, so now we know how patterns can look different too.

Thursday 12th: We are looking at debugging our own writing in English! Editing with green pens to make our sentences better by adding in some coordinating conjunctions. In maths we were consolidating our knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes by completing our end of unit check. This afternoon we started our music! We learnt how to play the note b.

Friday 13th: We have used the rekenreks today in Maths to help us partition numbers to ten.
