This half term, our topic is...

20.10.23- Wow what a busy last day of half term weโ€™ve had!! Wearing red to give racism the red card (a few Swallows missing) ! ๐Ÿ”ดโŒโ—๏ธ๐ŸŸฅ

20.10.23- pumpkin competition!! ๐ŸŽƒ Swallows loved having a look at the entries and a big well done to those who participated!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

20.10.23- Making our Design Technology final project! We chose 3 moving parts and created different levers to demonstrate this. Some excellent problem solving, perseverance and proud moments! We even got to show off to Kingfisher!

02.10.23 In Mrs Cordonโ€™s Maths group, we competed a Power Up Challenge, where we chose a digit card and had to think carefully about what place value to give it in order to be the winner!

13.09.23- exploring different levers in books to kickstart our D&T topic ๐Ÿ“–

12.09.23- Year 3s have been busy with exploring place value up to 1,000. We have been making numbers to see the hundreds, tens and ones.

12.09.23 In Maths with Mrs Cordon, Year 4 Swallows used number cards to partition numbers with 3 and 4 digits!

12.09.23- in science we grouped different pictures into a pile of solid, liquid and gas

08.09.23- STEM WOW DAY! Swallows completed three different exciting activities focusing on the states of matter. What a fantastic day we’ve had! 

08.09.23- WOW session 1, in Swallow class we focussed solids and had the challenge of building a bridge out of straws, lollipop sticks and paper. Swallows showed amazing team work and had great discussions, the results are impressive!

08.09.23 STEM WOW DAY SESSION 2. Swallow visited Mrs Cordon to take part in an Ice Melt Challenge! We used different methods to see who could melt their ice cube the fastest: blowing, squeezing, wrapping, chipping, shaking and salting!

08.09.23- STEM WOW DAY, session 3. In Kingfisher classroom, Swallow focussed on gas and were challenged to make the balloon travel along the string. 
We found that smaller balloons travelled faster. ๐ŸŽˆ

07.09.23- For our art enhancement we sketched the Great Wave and then used watercolours, focusing on using blues for the ocean ๐ŸŒŠ
