Holly Hill Primary and Nursery School

Summer 1

Welcome back. Hope everyone had a great Easter break. This half term we are extending our history learning to focus on the Vikings, continuing our topic ‘Fight for the crown’. We will also be composing our own piece of Viking inspired music. Have a look at the knowledge organiser below.

Weekly Updates

Our spellings this week focused on homophones, words that sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings and we created posters to help us remember the different spellings. Photos to follow.

We also started our music lessons considering how pace and pitch affect the emotion of a piece of music. We enjoyed some warm up Viking activities first.

We started our new learning looking at our new English text - Viking Boy by Tony Bradman. We have used our retrieval and inference skills to create a representation of what we think the Viking Yggdrasil tree would be like.
