Summer 1

Dungeons and Dragons

This half term, our theme is dungeons and dragons. We are reading 'George and the Dragon' and 'How to Train your Dragon' and re-writing our own version.

In art, we are making a clay relief of a castle, looking carefully at the design features and detail of a castle. In computing, we will be making a dragon animation, learning to add detail frame by frame.

Our science work is about plants and we are going to be planting out the greenhouse to help us learn about the function and importance of plants.

Week Beginning 22nd May 2023

Art: Kingfisher have put all their skills together to make a clay castle relief 🏰

Drafting and editing: We have used the story, How to Train Your Dragon, to rewrite a small part, using our own ideas and those of the author. ✍️ 🐉

Week Beginning Monday 15th May 2023

P.E: Star boy and girl this week! I am so impressed with how they listened to advice from their P.E teacher and improved their jumping distance. 🌟

Designing: We are thinking about how our clay castle reliefs will look, and which clay techniques we will use.🏰

Week Beginning 8th May 2023

Science: Researching plants around the world 🌎 and discussing which ones we have seen and used. 🌱 🌸

Experimenting with clay: Kingfisher have been working with patterns in the clay and making ‘slip’ to attach one piece of clay to another.

Week Beginning 1st May 2023

Week Beginning: 17th April 2023

🏅 Congratulations to Charlie who won the Cross Country 🏃🏽 🥇

A great start to P.E. this week, thinking about how we run and taking small steps vs longer strides in running. We took it in turns to coach a partner and make sure they were using their arms and legs correctly.
