Autumn Term - Key Stage 1 have been learning all about colour and colour mixing and looking at how artists use colour in their art. They have explored primary colours, colour mixing, shades and tints and warm and cold colours. They have also used a digital program to create art too.

Work and displays from FS to Y6 - we have created some fantastic art work in school.

F1 have been busy this year. They have been colour mixing, painting with paint and mud, inside and outside and printing. They have created their own masterpieces after looking at Starry Night by Van Gogh.

F2 have enjoyed drawing, making sculptures using natural materials and working with clay.

Y1 and Y2

KS1 have been developing their skills and knowledge in printing after looking at the work of William Morris.

The finished print

KS1 created faces using fruit and vegetables after looking at the work of the artist Archimboldo.

Y3 and 4 have been looking at the work of Stan Lee the Marvel creator and working towards a finished product of a comic strip.

They have been focussing on the use of line, shape and tone and developing the skill of shading. They have looked at faces and used proportion and the skills they have developed to create a sketch.

Y5 and 6

As part of their Fantastic Beasts topic, Year 5 and 6 have worked towards an end product of their own fantastic beast creations.

They have focussed on line, shading and colour and how these can be used to create texture, form and depth in their sketches.

Summer Term 2022

To celebrate the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II the whole school took part in an art project.

We looked at portraits of the Queen across the decades and used a variety of styles, media and materials to create portraits and pictures. These were used to create a whole school display throughout school. Parents were invited to come and look at our work at the end of our Jubilee celebrations.
