Our Spring 2 topic is 'Mother Nature.'

Our Enhancement Subjects this half term are Art, D.T and Science.

P.E is on Wednesday morning this half term! Please ensure your child has heir p.e kit in school on this day!

Week 6 update 

 

27th March- In Jigsaw we were looking at road safety!

 

29th March- Today was our last P.E session with Next Level Sports! We combined all of the different phases of dance like levels, dynamics, movement, and balance. We recapped upon what unison and canon meant and we all remembered… well done Wren Class for fantastic performance and behaviour during P.E this half term! 
 

23rd March

ART EXPERIENCE WITH CLARE!

 

We have had the most amazing time creating our butterfly wings with Claire. She talked to us about renewable, sustainable art and recycling old items to make art. 

Week 6 

 

22nd March- In P.E today we have been working on forms of movement. We review our prior learning of dynamics and basic forms of movement. Our dynamics were Spikey, Hard, Strong. We are looking at canons this lesson! Do you know what a canon is? Ask Wren class and they will tell you!

 

24th March- we have been giving each other instructions in computing today! Working on directions.

Week 4 

 

13th March!- Hope you all had a lovely snow day and weekend! Today we have started the week by writing a lovely descriptive piece about our story ‘The Tin Forest’. In maths, we were measuring objects using a ruler, last week we were using non-standard forms of measure, like cubes. 
 

15th- It is P.E day today. We are working on dynamics.

 

16th- We are learning about William Morris in Art. We are practising repeated patterns like on Morris’ wallpaper designs!

Week 3 

 

7th March- We have been using various objects to test out our printing skills. We were inspired by William Morris and his wonderful patterned wallpaper.

 

8th March- We have had P.E this morning, we remembered all of our movements and speeds from last week!! We learnt about the four basic movements in dance. They are balance, freeze, jump, and turn. 
 

9th March- we had some fun in the snow! We’ve made a couple of snowmen and plenty of snowballs!

Week 2 

 

Monday 27th- We have been re-writing the poem, The Owl and The Pussy Cat, in English. We have also started our new Art focus, which is all about patterns.

 

Wednesday 1st- we have been working on movement in P.E! And how to move to music and understand speed of movement. We are also creating our T-Shirts for WBD today ready for tomorrow! How exciting!

Week 1
 

Monday 20th- Today we have discussed our holidays and created a personal account of these. We also looked at solving number problems in maths.

 

We have also been looking at some of our favourite books, such as The Gingerbread Man and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.

 

Tuesday 21st- Today Poet Paul Cookson visited us at Holly Hill! He got all of us involved in his poetry, and we performed some pieces together! He was so funny and some of us even bought in a few pennies to get a signed book from Paul! Fabulous! 
 

Wednesday 22nd- We are back to having our Wednesday p.e sessions with Miss B! We are exploring dance this half term, looking at how to move to music.
