'We are family' Knowledge organiser
We are family
Our focus this half term is 'We are family', this includes wider family and the local community. This is going to be taught through our English, R.E and Jigsaw units.
In English we will be reading 'We are family' by Serena Patel. The story is a great 'realistic' example of what busy families are really like, the main character, Sonal needs a family picture for her school project. However, her family are too busy to be able to get one! They end up going on a family trip to get the perfect picture but, will it bring them closer or end in disaster...?
20.12.22- Christmas card making... they look fabulous!! 🎅 🧑🎄
19.12.22- Christmas party day!!! 💃 🕺 🪩
15.12.22- Swallow have been exploring multiplication and division this week, the counters helped us see the ‘groups’ and arrays to completed the number sentence. 🔴🟡
14.12.22- The final gymnastics session was an active one! We had the apparatus out and was able to use and develop everything we had learnt throughout the half term🤸👏🏼
13.12.22- pantomime afternoon!! Swallow class loved it and sat brilliantly all the way through 😀
09.12.22- Year 4’s have smashed area this week! We have been measuring the space inside of a shape or given space🔴🟥🔺
07.12.22- Christingle service 🍊 Reverend Lee came to visit to tell us all about Christingles, we then went back to class to make our own ones. After making them we joined in a service with LKS2, it was beautiful!

06.12.22- Today in science Swallows made different circuits to see whether the electricity could flow or not, we knew it worked because the light bulb lit up 💡
05.12.22- photos with Santa 🎅
05.12.22- what an exciting start to the week and Christmas celebrations getting to have some fun in the snow globe!! ⛄️ ❄️ thank you to FOHH!!
30.11.22- creating a mini routine in gymnastics with what we have learnt so far!

25.11.22- using the atlas to locate rivers in England, great map skills! 🏞️🗺️📍
25.11.22- maths fluency, number of the day!
24.11.22- practicing keeping the rhythm, not bad for our first go, it’s tricky to keep the same timings without going faster or slower! ⏰ 🎶

18.11.22- Children in need, the children looked fabulous supporting such a great cause🐻
16.11.22- Gymnastics is quickly becoming one of our favourite times of the week! 🤸
14.11.22- Starting with week with partner spelling practise for our new spellings ✍🏽
10.11.22- Working in groups to make inferences about the characters feelings from picture perfect. We then added speech that goes with the feelings ✍🏽 Great group work!
08.11.22- kickstarting our map work by looking at the United Kingdom and the main/capital cities! The atlases really helped us 👍
04.11.22- Improvising with the boomwhackers in music.
03.11.33- acting out part of our English text. This is just a slight insight into our acting out, it really helped us to remember the text!
