Autumn 2
Fantastic Beasts
We are looking forward to a really busy and exciting half term with our Fantastic Beast topic. This half term our English topic is focussing on non- fiction texts with us writing our own at the end. In Science our topic is Living Things. We will be learning about animal groups, their life cycles and reproduction methods. Our focus topics are Art and Music. In Art we’ll be practising mark-making using pencil, paint and pastel media in the hope that we can re-create some of the animals in our texts. We will be really busy this half term practising for our Christmas concert and we look forward to performing this for you at the end on term.

No Pens Wednesday
Today we didn’t use any pens at all. In Maths we practised times tables, put fractions, decimals and percentages on a number line, made up money games, used counters and cubes to make squared and cubed numbers, made nets of 3D shapes and looked at symmetrical patterns. There was lots of group discussion about Maths, which was really lovely to hear.
Thursday 14th November
Exploring use of line and texture using paint and pastel. Owl class really enjoyed their Art afternoon today.
Today we wrote an introduction to our non chronological report pieces. These Owls were very eager to read their work. There were some amazing pieces of writing using things that we have been learning over the week. 👌👌👌
Monday 4th November
We started our gymnastics lessons today and made our own sequences.
