Year 2 Spellings

For our final book for this half term, we will be enjoying a classic ‘Six Dinner Sid’

Pumpkin entries, some fabulous entries thank you! Well done to our winner Evie!

Science Investigation - Do children with bigger feet, have bigger hands? We made a prediction, discovered our shoe sizes, drew around our hands and feet, measured them with cubes and compared the results, then we concluded our results together.

Geography - we have been discussing the importance of looking after our world and what we can do. We created some fabulous posters for everyone to help save our world!

Keeping with the theme of Monsters, we are now exploring 'NOT NOW BERNARD' for our next core text - Weeks Beginning 23rd September and 30th September

Geography - In Geography we have been exploring our local surroundings and identifying human and physical features. We have had a walk around our school grounds, and used Google maps to explore Selston further.

We had a fabulous Reading Breakfast this morning followed by a reading workshop. Welcoming our parents back into the classroom has been a pleasure!

Tues 1st Oct - WOW we had a fantastic day with our Beatboxing and Breakdancing sessions! Look out for some of the videos!

27.9.24 - In English we have worked together to create a toolkit to help us with our character description for the Monster

26.9.24 - In Geography we have been looking at human and physical features around our school.

We have created a story map together for our new story NOT NOW BERNARD! We also were superstars at retelling he story using the repetitive phrases

Science - exploring what we NEED and WANT to survive.

Weeks beginning 9th Sept and 16th Sept - our first core text is The Colour Monster which explores feelings and emotions

We have had a fabulous few days at Papplewick Pumping Station, learning all about the history of how clean water made it all the way to Nottingham Town. We discovered the story of Wilf in more detail and got to meet him in person! We got to experience lots of ways of life from the past from the stokers, to doing the washing the Victorian way. We had a great time and our favourite was definitely washing the bloomers!
