"This is a happy and thriving school. Pupils say that care and respect are the school’s most important values. They know these values are central to everyone following, ‘The Holly Hill Way’. Pupils demonstrate these values in their sensible behaviour and considerate manner", OFSTED 2023. This is a 'good' school.

  • Chloe is our winner!

Mon 11 Dec 2017 Mrs. Steed
Wow! We were so excited to welcome Gloria De Piero into our school on Friday morning because she had a wonderful surprise. We had all tried soooooo hard with our Christmas card designs and she came to tell us that we'd only gone and won! She had chosen Chloe in Swan class as her favourite design and will be using it as her official Christmas card sent to all the businesses and homes in Ashfield. We are so proud of Chloe and can't thank Gloria enough for choosing us! Told you Holly Hill would be the best school in the world one day didn't I?!surprise

  • Suspected meningitis

    Thu 15 Sep 2016

As some of you may be aware, we have a child who is currently ill in hospital with meningitis. He is responding well to treatment and we hope to see him back to full health soon.

We have been in close contact with the Health Protection Agency since we learnt about the possibility yesterday. They are an expert body of health professionals who deal with all issues relating to such illnesses, and we have followed their advice and procedures.

The letter which they have asked us to release today explains about the things to be aware of, and the level of risk which the general population is at. It is worth reinforcing the message that many of us carry the bacteria responsible for the illness all the time, but it is only in a small number of cases that this causes us any harm.

Should the advice from the Health Protection agency alter, we will let you know immediately. In the meantime, please follow the advice in the letter.

  • Community Open Evening

    Thu 16 Jun 2016

    Holly Hill's Annual Open Evening

On Wednesday 22nd June between 6.00 and 8.00pm we will once again be inviting members of the community to look around our wonderful school. You may be a past pupil who wants a trip down memory lane, the parent of a child who may come to us, or just a member of the community who wants to have a look at the school. Staff will be on hand to chat, and direct you around the buildings. Last year's event was very popular, with lots of visitors commenting that they didn't know there was such a hidden gem in the midst of their community.

We hope that you will be able to join us!

  • New Glossary of Mathematical terms

    Mon 18 Jan 2016
If you are unsure of any mathematical terms which you come across, look at the new glossary which we have put into the assessment page on the website. It is packed with information and diagrams to explain the terms so we hope it will be useful.
  • Parent Governor Elections

    Wed 04 Nov 2015

We have two parent governor vacancies on the governing body and are looking for people to join us.

Governors help to run the school, ensuring that the children get the best education, by impacting on the vision and ethos of the school, holding the school to account for pupil outcomes and ensuring that the money we receive is well spent.

Parent governors bring a vital perspective to what we do as we strive to get better and better on our journey to outstanding.

If you feel that it is something you would like to be involved with, call the school, or drop in for a chat. Alternatively, our chair of governors would be more than happy to answer your questions.

Another good source of information is the National Governors' Association - find out more at http://www.nga.org.uk/Be-a-Governor.aspx

  • Holly Hill's first ever Community open evening!

    Fri 19 Jun 2015

On Wednesday 24th June we will be holding our first ever community open evening. We want to show off our school to peolpe in the community who wouldn't normally visit us - past pupils, people new to the area, or people who are just interested in looking around. There will be a chance to look around the classrooms where the children's work will be on display, look at a display of photographs from years gone by and  talk to the teachers and governors. Friends of Holly Hill, our PTA, will also be serving refreshments.

School will be open from 6.00-8.00, so we hope we will see you there!
