"This is a happy and thriving school. Pupils say that care and respect are the school’s most important values. They know these values are central to everyone following, ‘The Holly Hill Way’. Pupils demonstrate these values in their sensible behaviour and considerate manner", OFSTED 2023. This is a 'good' school.HSearch

We had a wonderful morning putting our model designs into reality. We used our designs to create our car models, decorating the boxes, adding the wheels and axles before testing them out and evaluating them. Take a look at our fabulous cars!
We enjoyed making our Christingles today and had a wonderful service with Reverend Lee where we learned about what the Christingle symbolises, sung a song and lit our candles while we sang. It was beautiful
We have been staring to explore 3D shapes ready for our next topic in Maths
We had a fantastic time this morning trampolining. We tried bouncing on our feet, knees, bottoms, doing twirls. Look at us go!
We had another fantastic D&T session, this week we practised making a hot air balloon lever and explored wheels and axels in preparation for our creations over the next few weeks
For No Pens Wednesday, we had a focus on oracy and had lots of discussion predicting what we thought would happen in our new ‘QUEST’ story
Another fabulous reading breakfast, thank you for joining us🙂
Our first book this half term is 'The Journey'
We would all like to say a huge thank you for supporting us during our Winter Warmer and helping to raise funds for us to enhance the children’s learning in KS1
D&T - Investigating sliders and making our own. We added a strip of paper and cut two slits to test out two different sliders before making our own moving picture using the cut method.
Science - we have been investigating properties of materials and discussing the material objects are made from and the properties different materials may have.
D&T - Exploring mechanisms and finding our own within the classroom
English - We have been role playing a key part of the story when the girl discovers a river and creates her own way over. We used our imaginations to act out different scenarios and how we would cross the bridge if we had a magic pen.
Science - we have been looking at materials and what they are. The children enjoyed labelling the different objects in the classroom with the different materials
