Earth Heroes

This half term our topic is Earth Heroes and in English we are researching and writing fact-files on influential people, 'our Earth Heroes' who work to help protect our earth and the animals in it. Our Science this half term is exploring forces and investigating friction. In RE we are looking at places for worship within different religions. In Art we are excited to be having a go at some Pop Art and finally Computing will be exploring how systems work.

Wow.......we had some fantastic pumpkins today. Well done to everyone who took part and especially to Isla who was our winner.

This week we have visited St. Helen's Church as part of our RE work about places of worship. Reverend Lee showed us around the church and told us lots of facts about it.

W/b Monday 5th October

This week we have investigated Magnetism and explored the opposite poles of a magnet. We predicted what we thought and had some great Scientific discussion.

We have started our artwork in the style of Andy Warhol. We have used graphite printing to produce images of our face.

POP ART in the style of Roy Lichtenstein

Today we have carried out our investigation about Friction. We have tested the effect of different surfaces on a moving vehicle. We have identified the variables that we need to keep the same, change and measure. Some great Science vocabulary used to talk about observations made and results.
