Year 2 Spellings (Year 1's do not have spellings this term)

We had some fantastic Pumpkin entries - well done to all! Well done to our Winner Violet with her home grown Pumpkin:)

Show Racism the Red Card! We enjoyed wearing red in support of Show Racism the Red card day and all worked hard to create self-portraits.

For our History, we have been exploring how schools were in the past compared to now. We are very lucky that Mrs Brooks and Mrs Cooper came to Holly Hill when they were younger and answered lots of questions for us.​​​​​​

In Geography, we talked all about how we need to work hard to keep Selston and our world tidy and clean to look after it. We created some lovely posters to promote this.

We have been working hard in Maths this week on our addition number sentences with fact families and writing sums

We have had some fabulous sentences written this week for our story 'Not Now Bernard'

We had an amazing walk around our local area, exploring all the different physical and natural features we could find

In History, we explored different sources about schools in the past and present. We worked in groups to annotate photographs.

For our Science lesson we enjoyed a senses walk with Woodpecker class around the playground and school.

 

We had our first visit to Mrs Steed today (11.9.26) for a fabulous piece of History with beautiful handwriting. Well Done Max!

11.9.26 Our Year 1s enjoyed counting on in Maths from any number and Years 2's enjoyed exploring making tens and ones!

 We had a fun time in science labelling different parts of the body.
