Sports Day 22 - We have had lots of fun (and ice lollies) today exploring all the different sporting activities. Everyone had their favourite and enjoyed the day!
Week beginning - wow! What an amazing day for the Queen’s platinum jubilee! Everyone has enjoyed todays activities and you should have some happy, tired children tonight! Have a lovely half term everyone, see you on the 6th June!
Week beginning 2nd May - The children enjoyed our new book Sharing a Shell! We have been reading about this, recording sentences and writing using Clicker and exploring questions about the text. However, making Mug Cakes on Thursday was the favourite activity 😂🧁
Week beginning 25th April - This week we have carried on with our Sam Plants a Sunflower core book. We have had a fun week planting sunflower seeds and a visit from White Post Farm! Antony learnt to make scrambled egg in the holiday and taught us all how to do it on Thursday! It was very tasty!
Week beginning 18th April - We have started our work on the core book Sam Plants a Sunflower this week. In maths the children are working on the commutative law and in English we are building to writing our own instructions for planting sunflowers.
Week beginning 7th and 14th March - we have been learning about Rumble in the Jungle these past two weeks. The children have been practicing classifying different types of animals and learning about features of physical and human geography.
Week Beginning 21st and 28th February - The core book we are focusing on these two weeks is Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children also enjoyed celebrating World Book Day and Pancake Day. Welcome back Nesties!
Week Beginning 7th February - This week we have continued learning about the Stone Age through our book Cave Baby. The children have written sentences which include an adjective, explored Stone Age homes and art, learnt how sound travels to our ears and practiced reading the time on a clock! Also two of our Nesties went to Eureka on a school trip! Exciting week in the Nest! Have a wonderful half term and see you in a week!
Week Beginning 31st January - We are starting our new core book this week. The children have read the story of Cave Baby which links to our history topic of Stone Age. We also learnt about Chinese New Year.
Week beginning 17th and 24th January - We have been learning about the Tin Forest over the past two weeks. We have been working on writing sentences with an adjective in, block graphs, using scratch in computing and learning about properties of materials in science. Well done Nesties, you have worked hard!
Week Beginning 10th January - we have worked our socks off this week! We have been carrying on the Man on the Moon and re-told the story. We’ve started our work on Christianity, focusing on stories about Jesus in R.E, carried on practicing joining techniques in DT, learnt about the phases of the moon in science and had just enough time to make space themed cup cakes! Phew!
Week Beginning 3rd January - Happy New Year Nesties!!! It’s been a wonderful first week back! We have started our new core book ‘The Man on the Moon’ and have been learning about facts about the moon. In Maths we have started our topic on multiples of numbers and have revised 10s and 5s which everyone did very well with. In English we have been focusing on adjectives to describe the Moon ready for our story writing next week. Lovely first week back Nesties! 😄
Week Beginning 13th December - It’s Christmas!!!!! Lots of fun has been had this week. Merry Christmas Nesties and we’ll see you in January! 🎄🎅🏻

Week beginning 22nd November - This week we finished our work on the Magic Porridge Pot and weight. We made yummy porridge, using our weighing skills. We also decorated the tree school Christmas tree!
Week beginning 15th November - we have been working hard on our new core book ‘The Magic Porridge Pot’. The children all joined in with the sensory story and have liked porridge tasting! Our favourite activity of the week was going to Whispers Woods to saw the willow to make a new willow tunnel - this is a longer term project that the Nesties will be working on so watch this space!
Week Beginning 8th November - Another busy week in the Nest! We have continued our work about the Gruffalo, practiced finding lines of symmetry, learnt about and found different micro habitats and much more! You are working so hard Nesties and we are very proud of you!
Week beginning 11th October - This week we have been working on the book Room on a Broom. We have recording sentence and then using Clicker to retell the story. We have practiced ordinal numbers, learnt about body parts in science and still had time to enjoy some spooky pre-Halloween activities! Have a wonderful half term everyone!
Week beginning 4th October - It’s been assessment week in the Nest and we have been working hard to show the teachers we have met all our targets! And we did! Well done Nesties! We have also enjoyed sensory circuits and pizza making this week. Next week we will be learning about Room on a Broom, ordinal numbers, healthy bodies (including skeletons) and maybe a little Halloween fun! And thank you to Esme for the yummy birthday cakes! 🧁
Week Beginning 20th September - We have been learning about Supertato this week! The children loved finding the Evil Peas and making their own Supertato! Excellent adjective work and addition problems in maths. We also went on a scavenger hunt in our woods time, finished by a game of hide and seek.
First week back to school! We have been busy getting used to our own individual schedules and we have been so proud of the children for checking their next activity and developing their independence. The children have settled back in wonderfully. We have started our work on The Colour Monster which will last for two weeks.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
