PUPIL VOICE: 2021-2022
Welcome to Holly Hill Student Council
At Holly Hill, we believe that the children should play a major part in what our school looks like, and important decisions.
You'll find updates from our meetings about what we are up to in school. The Student Council will meet regularly to discuss how we want our school to look, and will also be involved in local community projects too.
We look forward to a year ahead of some exiting changes!
Meeting Minutes:
Here you will find everything that we have discussed in our meetings.
Our community:
School council are currently collecting food for our local food bank. We would appreciate donations and are collecting the week beginning the 13th December.
Thank you ☺️
This year Pupil Voice will look a little different. We will hold our meetings via a class council which will take place weekly. The Councillors in each class will take the minutes which will come to me to put on our Student Council Board.
Each Bubble will decide what they want to discuss in their 10 minute meeting, which will be lead by the Councillors. We will look at was has been discussed and action them according to their priority.
Please keep looking on this page for updates.
Mrs Ward
Welcome to the Pupil Voice Page. We have two groups at Holly Hill: The Student Council and the Food Forum.
The Student Council meet on a Thursday. Currently we are working on OPAL (Outdoor Play And Learning) to make playtimes and dinnertimes more exciting. We have been working with the OPAL leaders and met with Miss Mee on the 30th January to decide how we are going to make playtimes better for KS1 and KS2. Student council have some fabulous ideas and we look forward to making our playtimes even more exciting!
The Food Forum are a group of Food Ambassadors from each year group. We met with Donna Baines from Nottinghamshire County Council on Thursday 23rd January to try out a school dinner and discuss our favourite foods. The food Forum was buzzing with chat and ideas about food and we had a great time! Donna Baines is coming back to our school to make the children's favourite dishes. This is a great group that is able to put forward the children's ideas for future school dinners.
Please visit this page for regular updates on the latest ideas of our brilliant pupil voice!
OPAL
Our Student Council have been meeting to discuss how outdoor play is going.
They have put forward some ideas and written a list of things they think the pupils at Holly Hill would like for outdoors.
At the moment, the children are having a wonderful time outdoors, exploring the wooded area, making dens and jumping in puddles!
Student Council also met with Miss Mee (one of our OPAL Leaders) to discuss how we can look after our equipment and store it.
Meeting Two: Tasting our own ideas!
Friday 6th March
We tried our own suggestions to go on the school dinner menu. These are the new lunches and puddings that will be added:
Dinners
Cottage Pie with cheese topping - Holly Bettridge
Goulash - Busola Abiola
Chicken Pot Pie - Emmie-Rose Clifford (her very own recipe will now be known as: Holly Hill Chicken Pot Pie!)
Puddings
Chocolate cake with pink custard: Erin Holliday
Victoria Sponge: Amelia Ward
The children were provided with a lovely dinner whilst talking about their favourite meals. Donna Baines, from Nottinghamshire County Council, told us that we would be influencing the Holly Hill school dinner menu.
We have been set the task of writing down our favourite dinner and pudding choices ready for the next meeting.
