Summer 2 - Welcome to your child's last term in Puffin Class. This is a really busy but fun term. Our topic this term is 

LONDON ROCKS 

Friday 9th July 2021 - counting in 5’s

Thursday 8th July- Today as a class we made up an innovated poem based on The Magic London Bus poem.

This week in English we are learning about poetry. We have been learning London’s Burning and singing it in a round.

Tuesday 6th July - Today the children have made England flags in preparation for tomorrow nights football.

Monday 5th July 2021 - Today the children finished off their London Information books. They have worked really hard over The last two weeks on them.

Tuesday 29th June 2021 - Come on England!

Friday 25th June 2021 - Mosaic tile pictures.

Thursday 24th June 2021 - Today the children did some lovely writing about our picture of the day.

The children have worked really hard on some tests this week so they got some time outside to draw with chalk.

Wednesday 23rd June 2021 - In Science the children investigated the properties of materials and completed a Venn diagram.

Well done to this weeks HERO, well done Isla we are very proud of you.

Tuesday 15th June - Today we did Wow Write, the children worked hard to write The Queen’s Hat story.

Monday 14th June 2021 - Today the children enjoyed spending their morning play drawing with chalk.

Friday 11th June - Using bar models.

This week the children have been learning about verbs. They have written sentences using verbs about The Queen’s Hat.

Thursday 10th June - Today the children have been reading and writing split vowel digraphs.

Wednesday 9th June 2021 - Today the children listened to and talked about the story then sequenced the pictures in the correct order.

We also had an exciting delivery today! We received a letter from Sir Thomas Percival who came to tell us about The Great Fire of London a few weeks ago. He said how much he enjoyed meeting us and liked the letters we had written to him about the things we had learned.

Tuesday 8th June 2021. - The children came back to school full of beans today. They all enjoyed talking and writing about the things they had done over half term. In the afternoon we did our PE session outside in the lovely sunshine.

Summer Term 2021 

Welcome back we hope you had a great Easter holiday.

Our topic this half term is 

Knowledge Organiser Summer Term 1 - The Great Fire of London

Our PE session this term is Tuesday so please make sure all ear rings are removed. We will fit in additional PE slots when we can so it would be really useful if children brought their PE kit on a Monday and left it at school until Friday. Many thanks. 

Friday 28th May 2021 - Today the children became architects like Christopher Wren and designed how London could be redesigned after The Fire of London.

Thursday 27th May - This week the children have been using a computer to make their own Naughty Bus story using photos that they have taken themselves.

Tuesday 25th May 2021 - In PE today the children worked with a partner to mirror movements.

Monday 24th May 2021 - Today we used the photos we took last week to make our own Naughty Bus story using the laptops.

Friday 21st May - Alfie is Puffin Class hero this week. He has worked his socks off this week to write an amazing non-chronological report about The Great Fire of London. Well done Alfie we are very proud of you!

Friday 21st May 2021 - This week the children have been taking photos to make their own version of the Naughty Bus story.

Thursday 20th May 2021 - Today the children having been learning about life cycles of plants.

Wednesday 19th May 2021 - Mrs Wilcockson’s phonics group had fun today learning tricky words.

The children also wrote the next part of their non-chronological report on The Great Fire of London.

Monday 10th May 2021 - Our computing topic this term is photography, today the children took photos of an object (our class puffins) and also a selfie.

Thursday 6th May - Busy with Power Maths

Wednesday 5th May 2021 - Today the children have been learning about how houses were made at the time of The Great Fire of London.

Tuesday 4th May 2021 - today the children wrote a letter to Sir Thomas Percival.

Wednesday 28th April 2021 - Today we had a visit from Sir Thomas Percival who lived at the time of The Great Fire of London. He told the children lots of information about the fire and life at that time.

Fire Fire! Great fun was had trying to put out the fire.

Tuesday 27th April 2021 - Today the children have been learning about the events of the Great Fire of London. They read the captions and as a class put them in the correct sequence.

We have been learning alternative spellings for OO as in moon.

Monday 26th April - Starting our day getting moving to Jump Start Jonny

Friday 23rd April 2021 - Well done to this week’s Hero.

Friday 23rd April - Today the children were thinking of questions they wanted to find out about The London Eye. They worked with a talk partner, shared these with the rest of the class then wrote their own questions.

Wednesday 21st April - Today the children started finding out about the past by looking at pictures and sorting them into NOW or THE PAST,

Tuesday 20th April 2021 - The children have come back to school raring to go! They have got stuck into phonics, maths and enjoyed PE outside in the sunshine.
