Puffins, Wrens and Woodpeckers, Years 1 and 2, 2019/20

Meet the Team!

What a Performance Topic

This half term, our topic is 'What a Performance!' and it all kicked off with a super cinema style viewing of The Greatest Showman in the hall with popcorn and other treats. This was a great hook into the topic. Following on from this, we welcomed Peter Sensible, the circus skills man, to teach the whole of KS1 how to perform circus tricks such as juggling, hula hooping and plate spinning. Our main text this half term is Leon and the Place Between, which is a magnificent book, allowing the children develop their language and writing all the way through.

Year 1 Spellings - October Half Term

Monday 14th October 2019 - SHERWOOD FOREST TRIP

It has been extremely wet this weekend - please send the children in waterproof boots / wellies and with a waterproof coat. We WILL be outside most of the day tomorrow!

The children also need a packed lunch unless one has been ordered from school. All children will need a drink - please do not send cans or fizzy drinks.

Fingers crossed for good weather but we can assure you we will to try to ensure that the children have a fun and informative day regardless!

There is no such things as bad weather only bad clothing (so the saying goes!)

We will try to upload photos of our day as soon as possible.

It was lovely to welcome so many grand parents on Friday 4th October for our Grandparents Open Afternoon.

Year Ones still get time to learn through play.

Puffin Class have been acting out the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears this week.

What a fabulous start to the new term. We hope that your children have settled in well and are enjoying their new classes!

PE Days

We recommend that you bring PE kits to school on a Monday and leave them at school for the week just in case we get any extra opportunities to do PE or our days have to change. Please remember to remove earrings before school on PE days. For health and safety reasons children who are unable to take their own earrings out will not be allowed to participate in PE.
